A Visit to…Madagascar
Some hours ahead of their confrontation with World Cup 2006 winners Italy at the Letzigrund Stadium, the French team paid a 20-minute visit to Madagascar. Not the actual Madagascar but a re-created huge greenhouse, more than a hectare of area, that was made to resemble the peninsula of Masoala in Madagascar. Endemic species from the Masoala National Park were put to live in liberty in the controlled environment in Austria. This was a very interesting and relaxing visit for the French squad, keeping them focussed for the Italy game, where only a win will be sufficient for France to qualify.
